Bank of America removed from Dow Index

(Sept. 16, 2013) -- After spending five years on what the Journal calls the "blue chip benchmark," Bank of America will be replaced by Goldman Sachs Group. Low stock prices was cited by Dow Jones as a reason for removing the bank. Bank of America, headquartered of Charlotte, N.C., finished at $14.61, down from $50 in 2007, the Journal noted.

Arizona State Parks teach families how to camp

(Sept. 16, 2013) -- Families should bring sleeping bags or any bedding, pillows, clothing, sturdy shoes and personal items including toothpaste, towels, soap, etc. However, the following will be provided: tents, sleeping mats, chairs, lanterns, flashlights, GPS units, and all activity equipment. Plus water, lemonade, coffee and all food including one lunch, one dinner, one breakfast, snacks and campfire treats.

Vermont campground remains open despite setback

(Sept. 16, 2013) -- After an intense thunderstorm with low with strong gusting winds last Wednesday, Mother Nature was not kind to the many trees at Camping on the Battenkill already weakened by Irene, a press release noted. The area from the woods bathhouse, around the corner up through sites 33-37 is closed again until the trees can be cleared. But, the rest of the campground is still open to campers for the fall foliage season.
