Motorhomes, towables post slight jumps at auctions

(June 3, 2013) -- Motorhomes came in at an average selling price at auction of $39,346, which is $265 (0.6 percent) more than the previous month’s $39,081. Towables, including travel trailers, fifth wheels, and camping trailers, rose to $11,365 from $11,243, an uptick of $122 (1 percent). For reference, one year ago motor homes were selling for $40,914 and towables were $11,156.

U.S. manufacturing index declines; Canadian PMI moves higher

(June 3, 2013) -- Activity in the U.S. manufacturing sector contracted in May 2013 for the first time since last November as evidenced by the ISM manufacturing index falling to 49.0 in the month from 50.7 in April. The May 2013 RBC Canadian Manufacturing PMI indicated a sharp rebound in business sentiment with the diffusion measure jumping to 53.2 relative to an April reading of 50.1.
