Mobile Outfitters reports solid first year

Ford surprised by 2012 motorhome demand

(Dec. 18, 2012) -- In all of 2011, the company produced just 4,000 Class A gas chassis, said Craig Hall, specialty vehicle account manager for Ford Motor Company. Anticipating a better year in 2012, the company forecast they would need 7,000 chassis. "So far this year, we have actually built 9,500 chassis," he told RV Daily Report.

PRVCA offers 50 percent textbook reimbursement

(Dec. 18, 2012) -- The Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association is offering employees of PRVCA members who register for a distance learning course through Northampton Community College, and purchase the RV Industry Association textbook required for the course, a 50 percent reimbursement of the cost of the textbook(s) upon completion of the course. 

Uniontown, Ohio campground to become a Jellystone Park

(Dec. 18, 2012) -- After spending close to $700,000 in improvements and new amenities, including new pull-through campsites, cabins, a waterslide, a miniature golf course and a gem mining sluice, the Yoders quadrupled the park’s business base, drawing camping enthusiasts within a 50-mile radius of Uniontown, Ohio. While their efforts have been successful, they’d like to ramp up their family camping business even more. So the Yoders took the next logical step: They contacted Milford, Ohio-based Leisure Systems, Inc., which franchises Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, and began the process of joining the national family campground chain.
