U.S. manufacturing sales jump in June as Canada’s falls
(July 17, 2012) -- Industrial production in the United States rose 0.4 percent in June 2012, thereby beating market expectations for a 0.3 percent increase. Canadian manufacturing sales unexpectedly dipped 0.4 percent in May 2012 to mark a second consecutive monthly decline after a 1.1 percent drop in April. June consumer prices were unchanged in the month, although this represented moderation from the 2.3 percent recorded in April and a first-quarter 2012 average increase of 2.8 percent.
