Canadian GDP rises; U.S. personal spending falls
(June 29, 2012) -- April 2012 gross domestic product (GDP) in Canada rose a stronger than expected 0.3 percent in the month following an unrevised 0.1 percent gain in March and a 0.2 percent drop in February. Personal consumer expenditure (PCE) in the United States was unchanged in May 2012 following 0.1 percent gains in both April and March that marked notable downward revisions from previously reported 0.3 percent and 0.2 percent increases, respectively.
