Footwear helps Alaska woman survive grizzly attack

(June 18, 2012) --Arriving in Chugach State Park's Eagle River campground after a day of shopping, Mike and Tammy Anthony decided to go hiking around 7:30 p.m. They met several people on one of the most popular quarter-mile trails in the campground area, the Alaska Dispatch reported. But, a few minutes later, the couple had a dangerous encounter with a grizzly bear.
