Navistar loss brings an end to Workhorse

(June 7, 2012) -- After a disappointing financial report in which its truck segment recorded a $89 million loss, Navistar makes it official that it will idle its Workhorse Custom Chassis division, thus pulling out of the RV market. Last year at this time, the truck segment earned a profit of $92 million. The company took a $28 million impairment to shut down Workhorse and incurred a charge of $24 million for extended warranty costs.
