Canadian retail sales fall as inflation inches upward
(June 19, 2015) -- Nominal retail sales in Canada unexpectedly fell by 0.1 percent in April, while arket expectations had been for a much stronger 0.7 percent gain, RBC Economics reported today. The Canadian unadjusted all-items consumer price index jumped by 0.6 percent in May, thereby beating expectations for a 0.5 percent pop.
