Congress considers 6.3 cent diesel fuel tax

(April 10, 2012) -- A bill was introduced by Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-Penn.) and Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) that would increase diesel fuel costs by 6.3 cents per gallon in exchange for easing federal excise taxes on large trucks which is currently at 12 percent, Truck News reported today.
