U.S. personal spending, Canadian GDP both up
(Jan. 31, 2014) -- Personal consumer expenditure (PCE) in the United States rose a stronger-than-expected 0.4 percent in December 2013 following an upwardly revised 0.6 percent (was 0.5 percent) increase in November. Canadian GDP rose an expected 0.2 percent, thereby building further onto solid 0.3 percent gains in both October and September.
