Texas gems: Mission Tejas State Park

(Feb. 23, 2016) -- One of the best backyard treasures in East Texas is Mission Tejas State Park. The Rice Family Home historically served as a stopover for immigrants, adventurers, locals and residents traveling the Old San Antonio Road. While these buildings are treasures in themselves, the park hosts a wide variety of outdoor activities for visitors throughout the year.

Lawmakers oppose state park plan

(Feb. 23, 2016) -- A majority of Missouri House members, including three Southeast Missouri lawmakers, oppose plans for a new state park. They want the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to sell 4,200 acres of wilderness and farmland in southern Missouri they contend was purchased improperly.
