Initial unemployment claims fell last week

(June 4, 2015) -- The four-week moving average of initial claims, which attempts to smooth out some of the weekly volatility in the measure, rose to 274,750 from 272,000 the previous week. Continuing claims for the week ending May 23 fell 30,000 to 2,196,000, the lowest level since 2000.
