U.S. retail sales rise in October

(Nov. 18, 2014) -- The overall increase was helped by sales at motor vehicle dealerships managing to increase by 0.5 percent in the month along with a 0.4 percent rise in building material products. Some offset was provided by nominal sales at gasoline stations dropping by 1.5 percent and reflecting lower gasoline prices in the month.
