Consumer spending rises just 0.2 percent in May

(June 26, 2014) -- Personal consumer expenditure (PCE) rose by a weaker-than-expected 0.2 percent in May 2014. Expectations had been for a 0.4 percent gain following a flat reading (was -0.1 percent) in April and the 0.8 percent (was 1.0 percent) jump in March, RBC Economics reported today.
