Canadian retail sales, inflation rise strongly

(June 20, 2014) -- The unadjusted all-items Canadian consumer price index (CPI) index increased by 0.5 percent on a month-over-month basis in May. Nominal retail sales in April 2014 rose by a robust 1.1 percent, which was almost double the 0.6 percent expected by financial markets, said Ferley.
