Retail sales rise, initial unemployment claims fall

(March 13, 2014) -- Retail sales rose 0.3 percent in February 2014 to retrace about half of a downwardly revised 0.6 percent (was 0.4 percent) decline in January, RBC Economics reported today. Weekly initial jobless claims declined 9,000 to 315,000 for the week ending March 8.
