Initial unemployment claims jump by 15,000

(Sept. 19, 2013) -- Initial unemployment claims in the United States rose 15,000 to 309,000 in the week ending Sept. 14, only partially retracing the 29,000 drop to a revised 294,000 (was 292,000) the previous week and well below market expectations for a 330,000 reading, RBC Economics reported.
