ARC announces 2013 Beacon Award winners

EPA announces new formaldehyde rules

(May 30, 2013) -- EPA's first proposal limits how much formaldehyde may be emitted from hardwood plywood, medium-density fiberboard, particleboard and finished goods. The second proposal establishes a third-party certification framework designed to ensure that manufacturers of composite wood products meet the TSCA formaldehyde emission standards by having their composite wood products certified though an accredited third-party certifier.

Staycations poised to play significant role in 2013

(May 30, 2013) -- Conducted in mid-May, the survey of more than 670 online U.S. adults aged 18 or older revealed that more than one-half (53.7 percent) of all respondents plan to take a vacation this summer; one-sixth (15.9 percent) do not plan to vacation, and nearly one-third (30.5 percent) are still unsure of their summer vacation plans.
