Coming soon – Regulation N enforcement

(April 1, 2013) -- The fact the FTC has not been very aggressive in regulating our industry’s advertising is pretty much of an “open secret.” The very fact that we have a major player whose TV commercials and web based commercials flaunt both the FTC rules and the SAFE Act is testament to the lack of enforcement by the FTC. All of that is about to change however, as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CDPB) has decided they are going to step in where the FTC has historically been lax.
