Canadian, U.S. economies post meager GDP gains

(March 28, 2013) -- January GDP in Canada rose a stronger than expected 0.2 percent, which helped offset the 0.2 percent decline recorded in December 2012. The third estimate of U.S. fourth-quarter GDP growth showed another upgrade for the pace of economic activity to a 0.4 percent annualized rate from the 0.1 percent gain reported in the second estimate.
