2012 was benchmark year in KOA’s 50-year history

Short-term camper nights in 2012 at the nearly 490 KOA campgrounds in North America increased by 3.3 percent over 2011 final figures. Campground registration revenues were up nearly 6 percent over 2011.

Australians embrace caravanning lifestyle

There are 474,000 registered RVs in the country, and 85 percent of all people have enjoyed at least one caravanning or camping holiday, said Lamont. However, the ability of people to travel in RVs is somewhat limited, he explained, because a huge section of the country has no infrastructure, like roads or campgrounds, yet it's beauty makes it a popular attraction, said Lamont.
