Initial jobless claims jump last week

(Jan. 3, 2013) -- Jobless claims for the week ending December 29, 2012 rose to 372,000, which was greater than market expectations of a rise to 360,000. As well, claims in the previous week were revised upward to 362,000 from a previously estimated 350,000.
