U.S. industrial production declines
(Nov. 16, 2012) -- "The overall decrease in industrial production in October reflected weakness in manufacturing and utilities output in the month, although the effect of Hurricane Sandy was cited as a main driver of the declines," said Jeffries. "In particular, manufacturing output, which accounts for three-quarters of total industrial output, posted a 0.9 percent decline in the month. However, without the effect of the storm, output was reported as being little changed from its September level.”
