Cummins plans to cut 1,500 jobs

(Oct. 10, 2012) -- Indiana-based Cummins Inc. announced Tuesday that it plans to cut as many as 1,500 jobs by the end of the year, writes WRTV Indianapolis‎. Company leaders said an uncertain global economy and decreased demand for Cummins' products precipitated the changes.

Founder of Safari Motorhomes passes away

(Oct. 9, 2012) -- Perlot left the garment business in 1978 for the recreation vehicle business, joining Beaver Coaches as sales manager, and subsequently taking similar positions at Monaco Coach and briefly Country Coach. In 1987, he went out on his own and started Safari Motor Coaches, which eventually went public as SMC Corporation. In 1995, he rescued and reorganized Beaver Coaches, saving hundreds of jobs in Bend, Ore, his family noted.
