Relationship building: Learn how you can help

(Oct. 19, 2012) -- Growing up on a farm, my dad used to say, "Don't just stand around, make yourself useful." When you hear that over and over, you develop a knack for helping out. It starts with paying attention to what someone is trying to do. Then you offer to help. If they accept, you'll figure out how to work together so that you get the job done. When the job is finished you look at each other with sense of accomplishment. It feels good.
