California RV park adds pickleball courts

Completion of the $200,000 investment is scheduled for October, when the resort’s peak season begins. Pickleball is a racquet sport that encompasses elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis but is played on a court one-third the size of a tennis court.

Indiana man burned in RV fire

(Aug. 17, 2012) -- Firefighters had to rescue John Boggs from the RV because belongings inside the RV prevented him from escaping on his own, fire officials said noting the property also served as fuel for the fire. Officials also observed modified electrical wiring in the RV, the Visalia Times reported. 

Americans value, trust the travel industry, poll shows

(Aug. 17, 2012) -- The travel industry is rated by consumers in a new Gallup poll as in the Top 10 of 25 business sectors, with a 40 percent positive rating and a 21 percent negative rating, the American Recreation Coalition reported today. Another Gallup study reports that a majority of Americans are overweight or obese in all 50 states, "We just must get people outdoors and active," said Crandall.

Canadian consumer prices dip in July
