$230,000 grant will connect 30,000 students with national parks

(Aug. 28, 2012) -- Ticket to Ride provides financial resources for transportation, in-park educational programming, and meals that make national park field trips possible for schools across the country. This current round of grants, which totals $230,000, will make it possible for more than 30,000 students to experience their local national park this fall.

Costs mount as W.Va. park system recovers from June storm

(Aug. 28, 2012) -- Workers have repaired most of the physical damage that West Virgina state parks suffered during the June 29 windstorm, but the financial damage won't be as easy to fix. According to officials, the storm has cost the park system $1.28 million so far, reports the Charleston Gazette.

New RV sites coming to Minn.’s Perkins Lake

Camping up nearly 30 percent in Branson, Mo.

(Aug. 28, 2012) -- Branson Tri-Lakes News that overall, tourism tax receipts are up just slightly this year for the city of Branson. But campgrounds have seen an almost 30 percent increase compared to last year.
