Teenager drowns at Indiana campground

(June 12, 2012) -- Police are investigating the drowning death of a 14-year-old Indianapolis boy Sunday afternoon at the Hidden Paradise Campground in Decatur County, WIBC-TV reported today. According to the TV station, the boy was swimming at the campground during a celebration for winning a football championship at his school.

Western governors cooperate to get kids outside

(June 12, 2012) -- The Western Governors’ Association and Outdoor Nation announced today the launch of a pilot project to inspire young adults and their families to get outdoors and take advantage of the many great places for outdoor recreation throughout the Western states. Young adults in participating states are selected to serve as the Outdoor Recreation Outreach Coordinator (YOuROCkers). Their purpose is simple: to increasing park visits among peers.

Curtin predicts RV shipments to rise through 2013

(June 11, 2012) -- The recreation vehicle industry’s shipments are expected to reach 269,700 units in 2012, 6.9 percent above the 2011 total of 252,300, the RV Industry Association announced today. According to a new forecast by RV industry analyst Dr. Richard Curtin, released at the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) Joint Committee Luncheon on June 11, shipments will rise to 280,000 units in 2013, a gain of 3.8 percent from the projected total for 2012.
