Changes made to timber sales in Montana’s Bitterroot National Forest
(Dec. 26, 2011) -- The Missoulian reports that the Bitterroot National Forest has made significant changes to two timber sales. In the Como Campground project, nearly 700,000 board feet of timber will be removed for use in Montana sawmills.

In Minnesota: Wapiti Park Campground won’t close Dec. 31
(Dec. 23, 2011) -- The Star News reports the Elk River City Council in Minnesota had voted in July to revoke a conditional use permit for Wapiti Park Campground, effective Dec. 31, unless the campground took corrective action requested by the city. But the newspaper notes the campground sued the city.
