(Dec. 9, 2011) -- October's U.S. trade deficit totalled $43.5 billion, which was a smaller than expected gap. Canada’s October merchandise trade unexpectedly swung back to a deficit of $0.9 billion in October from a downwardly revised $1.0 billion surplus in September.
