Canadian retail sales rise, U.S. GDP revised lower

(Nov. 22, 2011) -- Canadian nominal retail sales in September rose a solid 1.0 percent following an upwardly revised 0.6 percent gain in August. The second estimate of annualized U.S. third quarter 2011 GDP growth showed that the rate slipped to 2.0 percent, which was slower than market expectations for a repeat of the advanced 2.5 percent gain.
