(April 9, 2013) -- Nebraska's Ponca State Park will host its second Outdoor Cooking Camp May 3-5. The interactive camp includes a variety of specialty courses with hands-on instruction.

(April 9, 2013) -- After decades of relying on independent concessionaires to run a hub of fishing and boating at Howard Prairie Lake, Jackson County Parks Department will now operate the Howard Prairie Resort campground and marina, while contracting with the Mt. Ashland Association to operate the restaurant and store. A Mail Tribune article talks about the changes going on.

(April 9, 2013) -- The Annapolis County Spectator reports Henk-John and Mary Ann Kuipers, who took over the Kingston area campground in Nova Scotia about a year ago, have been presented the Maple Leaf Award by the Jellystone Park franchise system.

(April 9, 2013) -- The Texas Association of Campground Owners and Campground Manager Software recently formed a strategic alliance. Under the program, TACO will encourage its  400-plus-member campgrounds to use Campground Manager Software systems to manage their front office registrations and /or facilitate their online reservations. In addition, Campground Manager Software will take off $300 of its initial set-up fee for each TACO member that subscribes to Campground Manager Software.

(April 8, 2013) -- Five years after the real estate and credit crash, the mess that included bulldozed campgrounds in the Florida Keys is being cleaned up, reports The Miami Herald.  For example, the newspaper says five months ago, a land trust bought the former American Outdoors campground.

(April 8, 2013) -- The Review reports Hancock County commissioners recently awarded a bid to privately operate the Kennedy Marina and Campground in Newell to Chester businessman Mike Shenton, the highest of three vendors to bid on the project.
