The National Park Service manages more than two dozen parks, monuments, seashores and historic sites in California, and they’re all starting to fray around the edges. Unforeseen costs nationwide, and congressional budget writers’ shortchanging public lands, have left a long list of deferred maintenance. Now lawmakers have a chance to reverse course. Source

As amazing as our every day life is living on the water or in our RV – it’s still good to break it up. We’ve found getting out in the van feels more like a get-a-way – a little mini break. Roaming Free: A little bit of post-rally run

The SEW2GETHER officially ended with Friday’s finale party – with a catered BBQ dinner, monstrous pies, and prizes. It was a fun evening, and a great wrap-up to a wonderful week. Since the Airing of the Quilts in Franklin was cancelled on Saturday, Debbie found a few quilt shops in nearby Waynesville and Maggie Valley and put together an optional impromptu shop hop. Source

RV Lifestyle: Off the beaten path in Lindsborg, Kan.

We were looking forward to a stop in Lindsborg, Kansas. Many of Tom’s ancestors are Swedish, and we maintain a number of Swedish traditions, especially around holidays. There are a number of Scandinavian heritage towns in the Midwest, and this is one of the most enthusiastic. It was clear from the moment we turned the corner on Main Street that something was happening. Source
