Portions of N.M.’s El Vado Lake to close because of low water

(Aug. 2, 2012) -- New Mexico State Park Division officials announce that El Vado Lake State Park is open, however the Sands Cove and South Point areas of the park will be closed to vehicle access beginning Aug. 3, 2012. Receding water levels have left these areas a significant distance from the water and are not being used by the public.
