Minn. parks, campgrounds closed after Monday’s storms

(July 4, 2012) -- La Salle Lake State Recreation Area is being evacuated and closed, and people are asked to postpone day visits to Itasca State Park while crews work to clean up downed trees from Monday night’s severe storms in northwestern Minnesota. Chippewa National Forest officials have closed the Norway Beach Recreation Area until further notice, which includes Cass Lake Campground, Norway Loop Campground, Chippewa Loop Campground, Wanaki Campground, and Winnie Campground.
