Wash. ranger killed during rescue operation

(June 22, 2012) -- According to a National Park Service spokesman, a Mount Rainier ranger slid more than 3,000 feet to his death Thursday while helping in efforts to rescue four injured climbers who fell on a glacier, reports the Washington Post.
