Maine taxes will keep RVs away

(March 6, 2012) -- Chad Shepard, owner of Travel-Rite RV, a Vermont company MRS is now auditing, testified at a Taxation Committee hearing earlier this week that Maine would, for example, impose a $5,000 use tax on a $100,000 RV, even though the company will only earn $200 in rent for the time it was in Maine, reports Down East.
