Belle Isle is a diamond in the ruff and now state park February 28, 2014 by Rebecca Smith (Feb. 28, 2014) -- As of Feb. 10, Belle Isle is a state park. Michigan state is now leasing it and the Department of Natural Resources in charge of managing the park.
