Despite the uncertainty surrounding Northern Wholesale Supply’s recent acquisition by Sun Capital Partners, Northern’s 2025 RV Super Show would go on without a hitch Dec. 10-12 at Mystic Lake Casino. Nearly 100 dealerships and 70 vendors participated in this year’s event.
“We heard about the acquisition about a week and a half ago and were asked if we would still participate and my answer was, ‘If there are dealers there, of course we’re going to the show,’” said Caryn Grady, general manager of Fleming Sales. “I hope for the best, that this turns out positively for Northern, and they come out of this better than they were a year ago. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t feel optimistic about their future.”
The 2025 RV Super Show kicked off Tuesday, Dec. 10, with a welcome reception, followed by a day of seminars featuring Genesis Products, Walex, Star Brite, Carefree of Colorado, Weigh Safe, Lippert, Gen-Y Hitch, Heng’s Industries, Icon Technologies, Curt, Dura Faucet, Southwire, Xantrex, Furrion, RV Safe, Pollak, Teknor, ProPack, Progress Mfg., Park Power, Hughes Autoformers, LaSalle Bristol, RVIA/RVTI, First Brands Group, WackO Products, Winegard, Pace Products, AP Products, Roadmaster, and WFCO. Wednesday concluded with exhibits open from 6-8:30 p.m.
Exhibits were open all day Thursday. Activity in the exhibit hall was more subdued than previous years, according to exhibitors and attending dealers, reflecting the general uneasiness about current RV market conditions and the acquisition, which saw some vendors withdraw following the acquisition announcement.
Ryan McCarville of Camp Site RV in Cresco, Iowa, said sales were down at their dealership about 20 units in 2024, but the service department was very busy, which helped Camp Site weather the 2024 storm. McCarville, like most at the event, was cautiously optimistic about 2025, seeing slower growth than the industry is used to seeing in past downturns, but a stronger year than 2025.
Both vendors and dealers were pleased with the new venue at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, citing a more modern and updated facility with nice hotel rooms, plenty of restaurants and activities on site, great food, and the closer proximity to Minneapolis.
The 2025 RV Super Show culminated with awards for Supplier of the Year and Best Field Support. Finalists for Supplier of the Year included AP Products, Progress Mfg., BAL, and LaSalle Bristol. Finalists for Best Field Support were Brad Van der Pol, Demco; Dave Voelker, LCI; Matt Havlik, Derema Group; Rob Stratton, Progress Mfg.; and Walt Mason, LCI/Curt.
AP Products was named Supplier of the Year, and Matt Havlik won Best Field Support. Furrion won Product of the Year for its Furrion Chill Cube, 18k Roof Air Conditioner. Genesis was Runner-Up for its Ceiling Kit Pebbled White 100’.
