Canadian GDP growth slows; U.S. personal spending weak

(Aug. 30, 2013) -- Annualized second-quarter 2013 growth in the Canadian economy slowed to 1.7 percent. Personal U.S. consumption rose 0.1 percent in July 2013, thereby missing market expectations for a 0.3 percent gain in the month.
