U.S. ISM index drops; trade deficit widens
(July 3, 2013) -- The ISM non-manufacturing index unexpectedly slipped to 52.2 in June 2013, which was its lowest level since Feb. 2010. The U.S. trade deficit unexpectedly widened to $45.0 billion in May 2013 from a revised $40.1 billion in April. The Canadian May 2013 merchandise trade deficit unexpectedly improved to $0.3 billion from an upwardly revised deficit in April of $1.0 billion.
