Ratepayers subsidize campgrounds in New Zealand

(March 1, 2013) -- In New Zealand, a private operator could end up running Queenstown Lakes District Council camping grounds or some could close down after a review found that ratepayers were effectively subsidizing visitor accommodation, The Southland Times reports.
