LKQ Announces Second Quarter Results for 2025

ANTIOCH, Tenn. – LKQ Corporation (Nasdaq: LKQ) today reported second quarter 2025 financial results and provided updated outlook for 2025, according to a press release.

Second Quarter 2025 Financial and Operating Results

Revenue for the second quarter of 2025 was $3.6 billion, a decrease of 1.9% compared to $3.7 billion for the second quarter of 2024. Parts and services organic revenue decreased 3.4% (2.7% decrease on a per day basis), the net impact of acquisitions and divestitures decreased revenue by 1.0%, and foreign exchange rates increased revenue by 2.3% year over year, for a total parts and services revenue decrease of 2.1%.

Net income2 was $192 million compared to $185 million for the same period of 2024. Diluted earnings per share2 was $0.75 compared to $0.70 for the same period of 2024, an increase of 7.1%.

On an adjusted basis, net income1,2 was $225 million compared to $261 million for the same period of 2024. Adjusted diluted earnings per share1,2 was $0.87 compared to $0.98 for the same period of 2024, a decrease of 11.2%.

The Company’s focus on cost reduction measures has resulted in more than $125 million in costs taken out over the past 12 months with an additional $75 million targeted for 2025.

North American organic revenue outperformed the market even as repairable claims across the entire industry declined 9%. In Europe, the Company has replaced more than 25% of the leadership team and continues to focus on reducing costs, rationalizing SKU’s and enhancing revenue opportunities, including entering into a strategic partnership to expand our salvage business.

  • Invest and Grow Organically: Investing in our core businesses to achieve above market growth and drive market share gains.
  • Pursue Disciplined Capital Allocation Strategy: Capital allocation remains focused on maximizing shareholder value.

Commenting on the quarter, Justin Jude, President and Chief Executive Officer, said:

Cash Flow and Balance Sheet

Cash flow from operations and free cash flow1 were $296 million and $243 million, respectively, for the second quarter of 2025. Cash flow from operations and free cash flow1 were $293 million and $186 million, respectively, for the six months ended June 30, 2025. As of June 30, 2025, the balance sheet reflected total debt of $4.5 billion and total leverage, as defined in our credit facility, was 2.6x EBITDA.

Returning Capital to Shareholders

During the second quarter of 2025, the Company invested approximately $39 million to repurchase 1.0 million shares of its common stock and distributed $78 million in cash dividends. For the six months ended June 30, 2025, the Company returned approximately $235 million to its shareholders by investing approximately $79 million to repurchase 2.0 million shares of its common stock and distributing $156 million in cash dividends. Since initiating the stock repurchase program in late October 2018, the Company has repurchased approximately 66.5 million shares of its common stock for a total of $2.9 billion through June 30, 2025. An aggregate balance of $1.6 billion remains for potential additional stock repurchases through October 25, 2026. On July 22, 2025, the Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.30 per share of common stock, payable on August 28, 2025, to stockholders of record at the close of business on August 14, 2025.

2025 Outlook

“As we look ahead, we are focused on executing on our strategic initiatives to deliver improved financial results. We will continue to follow a disciplined capital allocation strategy that returns capital to shareholders. Our strategy includes driving efficiencies and simplifying our business and portfolio as we look at ROIC as a constant measure. We are navigating through the cyclical issues in our marketplace and will have a stronger Company that is well-positioned when the market turns,” stated Rick Galloway, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Based on a confluence of macroeconomic factors in both North America and Europe, coupled with the results this quarter, LKQ is lowering its full year outlook. In North America, the Company is not seeing a recovery in the repairable claims and tariff uncertainty continues. In Europe, general economic softness and geopolitical unrest are drivers of an uncertain environment.

Airstream’s Wheeler: Ready to Resume Innovation

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Airstream CEO Bob Wheeler says he is excited about the prospects for his company for the next year.

Especially in light of the fact that leaders are confident enough in the national economy and a potential rebound that they are ready to start coming up with ideas for new models, floorplans and corporate partnerships.

“It’s been a fantastic dealer meeting for us this year, in large part because we had a lot more new product to show,” Wheeler told RVBusiness during a reception held before the dealer awards banquet Wednesday evening. “We know the market has been squishy and during the pandemic we spent a lot of time just making more of what we already made but now we’re very much back in the mold of innovating new products floorplans and new collaborations.”

Details on some of the company’s 2026 offerings are embargoed due to the sensitive nature of partnerships, but others such as a Frank Lloyd Wright-themed trailer, a new Basecamp trailer and new generator-free power system on Class B models were on display for dealers.

“We’ve been moving away from generators and now we have a standard of  just over 10 kilowatt-hour battery pack generator replacement with optional 17 kilowatt hour upgrade,” Wheeler said. “Not only can you get by without a generator with the base model, you won’t even lose time off the grid or – as for energy independence – we’ve got an upgrade option and very strong offering. And that’s new for 2026.”

The Advanced Power Package has at its heart a separate alternator driven by the van’s engine that creates power to be stored in the battery pack.

During the morning session with dealers, Wheeler talked about some of the challenges Airstream has faced over the past year, including $85 million worth of damage to a facility caused by a tornado in Iowa as well as shortages of some products needed to build the RVs caused by tariffs.

But the company is poised to resume innovation and continue to support its dealer base, he said.

He pointed to renewed efforts to create brand collaborations such as the Frank Lloyd Wright limited edition trailer and refreshed Tommy Bahama model for 2026.

  • Frank Lloyd Wright Limited Edition – Working with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Airstream’s engineering and design teams incorporated elements from across Wright’s career. Convertible spaces such as a table/work desk and various uses of leaf patterns show the influence throughout the coach. The 28RB floorplan has an MSRP of $184,900.
  • Interstate 19X Class B is a rugged vehicle built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. It has rear beds with cargo nets above. A wet bath and small kitchen area with a microwave also are features. An optional cushion is available to convert the driver/passenger area into another sleeping option.. MSRP is $233,400.
  • Basecamp 20XE is just over 20-feet long and weighs about 4,500 pounds. It has a cooler/ice chest below the floor between two beds in the back of the cabin. The front of the trailer features a large window and rounded dinette area with a small refrigerator and Contoure microwave above a storage area. MSRP is $78,500.

Alliant Credit Union Appoints Mike Dobbins as New CEO

CHICAGO – Alliant Credit Union announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Mike Dobbins as Chief Executive Officer. Dobbins succeeds Interim CEO Ken Schaafsma, who will continue to serve Alliant as Chief Risk Officer.

OHI Helps Secures Major Win in Protecting Public Lands 

OHI (formerly National ARVC) is celebrating a critical advocacy victory: the successful defeat of a legislative proposal that would have resulted in the sale of up to 3 million acres of federally managed public lands across 11 Western U.S. states. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of OHI, its members, and partners in Washington, D.C., these lands — many of which surround gateway communities — remain protected, according to a release from the national association dedicated to representing the interests and needs of private RV parks and campgrounds across North America. 

This outcome is a significant win for the Outdoor Hospitality Industry, the OHI release continued, because more than 75% of privately-owned outdoor hospitality businesses are located in or within 25-miles of gateway communities that depend on access to public lands. These public lands drive tourism, support local economies, and serve as a foundation for the outdoor experiences so many campers enjoy.

OHI’s Government Affairs Team worked directly with lawmakers and committee staff to raise industry concerns. Their leadership, combined with the voices of OHI members who shared their stories and perspectives, and OHI’s partnership with the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR), helped turn the tide. 

“This was an attempt to quietly strip away millions of acres that fuel our industry,” said David Basler, OHI’s Chief Strategy Officer and SVP of Government Affairs. “We have been asked why OHI is focused on saving public lands when our industry focuses on privately-owned businesses, and the reason is simple—when legislation threatens these lands, it threatens jobs, tourism and businesses that depend on them. If campers don’t have access to these public lands, the private businesses in the gateway communities won’t survive. It’s a symbiotic relationship for sure and one that OHI takes very seriously as we tirelessly support the success of private RV park, campground and glamping businesses across the country.” 

While the proposal was defeated this round, the fight may not be over. OHI is already preparing for the possibility that similar language could resurface in a different legislative package in the next 12 months. 

OHI’s GA team and its partners in DC will continue to monitor the issue and will update members accordingly. OHI urges all members to remain engaged, share how public lands support your business, and be ready to act when needed, so be on the lookout for another grassroots campaign from OHI’s Advocacy Action Center.

Leading Economic Index for U.S. Declined by 0.3% in June

The Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) for the U.S. declined by 0.3% in June 2025 to 98.8 (2016=100), after no change in May (revised upward from –0.1% originally reported). As a result, the LEI fell by 2.8% over the first half of 2025, a substantially faster rate of decline than the –1.3% contraction over the second half of 2024.

The Leading Economic Index (LEI) provides an early indication of significant turning points in the business cycle and where the economy is heading in the near term. The Coincident Economic Index (CEI) provides an indication of the current state of the economy.

“The US LEI fell further in June,” said Justyna Zabinska-La Monica, senior manager, Business Cycle Indicators, at The Conference Board. “For a second month in a row, the stock price rally was the main support of the LEI. But this was not enough to offset still very low consumer expectations, weak new orders in manufacturing, and a third consecutive month of rising initial claims for unemployment insurance. In addition, the LEI’s six-month growth rate weakened, while the diffusion index over the past six months remained below 50, triggering the recession signal for a third consecutive month. At this point, The Conference Board does not forecast a recession, although economic growth is expected to slow substantially in 2025 compared to 2024. Real GDP is projected to grow by 1.6% this year, with the impact of tariffs becoming more apparent in H2 as consumer spending slows due to higher prices.”

The 10 components of the Leading Economic Index for the U.S. are:

  • Average weekly hours in manufacturing
  • Average weekly initial claims for unemployment insurance
  • Manufacturers’ new orders for consumer goods and materials
  • ISM Index of New Orders
