OHI Shows Ways to Help Texas Hill Country Campgrounds

CENTENNIAL. Colo. – The early July devastating floods in Central Texas took more than 130 lives –many of them children – and caused up to $22 billion in damage, according to a release from OHI. Alongside the human toll, torrential rain and catastrophic flooding caused near-unprecedented levels of destruction, affecting homes, businesses and vehicles.

“Wherever your park is located in the country, you can do something to help your fellow campground owners and their communities. Donate to the OHI Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund, where grants are distributed directly to campgrounds affected by these natural disasters.  Every dollar goes toward helping those in the outdoor hospitality community who’ve been directly impacted by this disaster.

“Our friends at the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) have established a GoFundMe to accept donations for those parks or persons affected by this horrific disaster. You can donate here.

“Your fellow park owners and operators appreciate your donations and support, no matter where they come from. When we stand together, we stand stronger,” the release stated.

If your park experiences damage from any natural disaster, you are eligible for funds from the OHI Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund. You DO NOT need to be an OHI member to apply.
