Host Campers Legacy Owners Sell Truck Camper OEM

BEND, Ore. — In an interview RVBusiness, Dave Hogue, co-owner of Host Campers, said that he and partner Mark Storch have sold the truck camper manufacturing company to Duane Walker and Duane Stevens.

Founded in 2000, the Bend, Ore.-based company produces high-end truck campers. The company name originates from the first two letters of each owners’ last names (“Ho” and “St”).

If their family names sound familiar it’s because their fathers Jim Hogue and Frank Storch were business partners and founded Beaver Coaches in the late 1960s. The company was named after the Oregon State mascot, the Beavers. Beaver Coaches sold to Safari in 1998.

The younger Hogue and Storch started Host Campers in Jim Hogue’s garage where they had every tool available. Host became the first truck camper to come out with a triple slideout, designed by Mark Storch.

“We use very industrial slide out mechanisms that could also be used for motorhomes,” stated Dave Hogue.

They branded the original unit, the Mammoth, and this year that unit and the company celebrate its 25th anniversary.

“We’re known for our options that a lot of other truck manufacturers don’t offer. We came from a motorcoach background and used to have pages of options for interiors and components. We always figured that if we’re selling them and the consumer is buying them; shouldn’t we accommodate them?”

As far as the truck camper market, Hogue explained, “We have a good market with a strong product with trusses in the roof and studs in the wall. Lithium has been very successful for us with off-grid packages supplied by Go Power!”

“We don’t flood the market with inventory and that produces re-sale value for the product, so return on investment is huge when a customer wants to sell their unit.

Hogue and Storch plan to stay on with the company for a year to help with the transition. As Hogue explained this was our baby, we want to see it succeed.

REV Group Sells Lance Camper Mfg. Corp to Vision Kore

Lance Camper National Sales Manager Gary Conley

LANCASTER, Calif. — REV Group, Inc. (NYSE: REVG) announced it has sold Lance Camper Manufacturing Corporation – a premier builder of high- quality travel trailers and truck campers – to Vision Kore Inc., effective Thursday, June 26.

In a separate announcement, Lance Camper and Vision Kore officials said the transition to new ownership marks a significant milestone in the company’s 60-year legacy.

Bill Rex, a longtime RV industry veteran whose career began on the factory floor at Dolphin Campers before founding Rexhall Industries in 1986, will serve as president of Lance Camper. Rex is also Vision Kore’s co-founder and CEO.

His background includes decades of experience in engineering, operations and executive leadership with companies such as THOR West, and BYD Coach & Bus as their president and general manager.

“Lance has long been a brand I’ve respected and admired,” said Rex. “To now help lead its next phase of growth is a tremendous honor. My goal is to build on the strengths that made Lance a leader — smart design, strong dealer relationships and consistent quality — while introducing renewed energy and operational focus.”

Like Lance Camper, Vision Kore and Rexhall Industries are also based in Lancaster, Calif.

“Lance Camper is an iconic brand of campers and trailers, and we are thrilled that it’s joining the Vision Kore family,” Rex added. “We look forward to welcoming and working with the talented Lance Camper team led by Gary Conley who’s been with Lance over 40 years, building on the foundation laid by REV Group and continuing to serve the brand’s loyal customer base.”

Gary Gunter

The sale of California-based Lance Camper marks REV Group’s exit from the non-motorized RV segment and reflects a strategic focus on its motorized RV brands, which include Fleetwood RV, Holiday Rambler, American Coach, Midwest Automotive Designs and Renegade RV.

By focusing on its motorized Class A, B and C motorhomes, REV will optimize its facility proximity for resource allocation and strengthen its competitive position while continuing to consistently deliver exceptional products and services, according to the REV release.

“We are excited for the continued growth and success of Lance Camper under Vision Kore’s ownership. I want to acknowledge and thank the Lance team for their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and hard work,” said Gary Gunter, president, REV Recreational Vehicles Segment.

The sale returns Lance to private ownership — an environment under which the brand historically thrived. Lance will continue full operations at its Lancaster facility with no disruption to production, service, or dealer support.

During its time with REV, Lance expanded its production capacity, invested in infrastructure and automation, and strengthened internal systems and processes. These enhancements have positioned the company to respond more efficiently to market demand and continue delivering the product quality and dealer support for which Lance is known.

“We’re grateful to REV Group for the investments and support that helped us grow operationally over the past several years,” said Gary Conley, director of Sales and Marketing, who has served at Lance Camper for over 40 years. “This transition is an exciting opportunity to reinvest in the values that built Lance — quality products, trusted partnerships, and responsive dealer support. With this new and expanded leadership team that understands both the retail and manufacturing sides of the industry, we’re entering a new era of focus and forward momentum.”

Renogy-Powered DIY Rig Debuts at Overland Expo PNW

Travis Caplette, the DIY overland upfitter, intrepid adventurer and dedicated family man, is ready to showcase his one-of-a-kind, Renogy-powered adventure rig from June 27-29 at the Overland Expo Pacific Northwest (PNW) in Redmond, Ore., according to a release from Renogy.

Along with his wife Karyn, son Malcolm, and their adventurous dog Tuk (the inspiration behind “Tuk and Roll Overland”), Caplette will be highlighting his hands-on journey in building a robust off-grid power system using Renogy products, an upgrade that has not only transformed his truck but has elevated his overlanding adventures.

Crafting a Family Adventure with Power and Precision

What began as a practical solution for family travel has now blossomed into a passion project for Caplette, the release continued. After purchasing a partially built expedition truck outfitted with Renogy batteries, he set out to refine and enhance the vehicle to meet the demands of off-grid exploration. With a keen eye for detail and a love for adventure, the Caplette family has ventured through Baja, the western U.S., and British Columbia, chronicling their travels and ongoing upgrades.

Caplette worked closely with Renogy’s team to create a fully integrated power solution. What was once a hodgepodge of mismatched brands and systems is now a cohesive, high-performing Renogy-powered platform that meets the rigors of overlanding with unmatched reliability.

Why Renogy?

Caplette chose Renogy not just for its quality, the release stated, but for its affordability and ease of use in DIY setups. While top-tier brands like Victron and Mastervolt are often favored in the luxury overland market, Renogy is said to offer a “sweet spot of performance, value, and DIY-friendliness” for serious adventurers. What truly sold Caplette, though, was the seamless integration with Renogy’s Vision platform and mobile app, giving him complete control of his system from his truck’s Android head unit or his smartphone at camp.

Upgraded Rig for Ultimate Off-Grid Performance

The upgraded system now features an impressive 800 amp-hours of Renogy’s new smart 200Ah Lithium Batteries, a 3,000W split-phase inverter/charger, dual charge controllers, and a comprehensive suite of Renogy monitoring and control devices. With 1,000 watts of solar panels mounted on the roof, the Caplettes are fully equipped to explore off the beaten path with ample power to spare. Travis also integrated a smart heater matrix that uses excess solar energy to heat water, ensuring that every watt is put to good use.

As the Overland Expo approaches, Caplette is putting the finishing touches on his build and taking the truck on a series of shakedown runs to ensure it’s ready for the ultimate test. Expo visitors will find the truck in the DIY Showcase, where Caplette will be on hand to share his build journey and field questions from fellow enthusiasts. In the meantime, follow the progress and other adventures on Instagram: @tnr_overland.

“We’ve integrated everything to make sure it’s as seamless as possible,” Caplette shared. “It’s been a massive project to rebuild and rewire it all, but we’re in the final days of getting it ready for the shakedown. We’re hoping to make sure everything’s dialed in before I head down to Redmond.”

Airstream Club Int’l Sells Out 2025 Rally; Sets 2026 Event

MINOT, N.D. — After selling out its 2025 International Rally in record time, Airstream Club International (ACI) announced that its 69th International Rally will be held Aug. 22–27, 2026, at the North Dakota State Fair Center in Minot, according to a release.

For nearly 70 years, the Airstream Club International Rally has united Airstreamers from across the globe for six unforgettable days of community, learning, adventure, and entertainment. From expert-led seminars and live music to pet parades, art exhibits, shopping, and social gatherings, the Rally is a must-attend event for Airstream Club members.

The upcoming 2025 Rally in York, Pa., sold out in under six months — a clear sign of the strong enthusiasm that continues to define the Airstream community. Now, all eyes turn to Minot, where anticipation for 2026 is already building.

A Warm Welcome from the Magic City

Minot has rolled out the red carpet. During a recent site visit, ACI’s Rally Planning Team was greeted with by local leaders representing Visit Minot, Minot Parks District, Minot Area Community Foundation, Trinity Health, Minot Area Chamber of Commerce, tourism officials, and more. The coordinated support and enthusiasm from the community underscored Minot’s readiness to host thousands of Airstreamers.

“From the moment we stepped off the plane, Minot opened its arms and welcomed us in,” said Lori Tilton, ACI Executive Director. “This is a special place, and we can’t wait to show it off to our Airstream Club members. The level of coordination and hospitality we’ve already seen from the community is extraordinary.”

Stephanie Schoenrock, Executive Director of Visit Minot, echoed that sentiment:
“We’ve been working closely with the leadership of the Airstream Club for more than three years, and it’s been a truly collaborative and energizing experience. Lori and her team share our enthusiasm for bringing their rally to Minot, and we’re honored they’ve selected our community as their destination. Minot has a proud tradition of rolling out a warm welcome, and our community is already looking forward to sharing our hospitality in August 2026.”

More Than a Rally—A Lasting Impact

Beyond the festivities, the International Rally is known for leaving a positive imprint on its host cities. In recent years, ACI rallies have generated more than $2.5 million in economic impact in each host city. ACI anticipates similar impact in York this year and Minot in 2026.

ACI is also committed to giving back. In the months leading up to the 2026 Rally, the club will work closely with Minot leaders to identify community projects and charitable initiatives that will benefit from the generosity of Airstream Club members both monetarily and from volunteer support.

Save the Date

Registration for the 2026 Rally in Minot will open on August 27, 2025, during a special invitation presentation at the sold-out York Rally. With excitement already mounting, early interest suggests another sellout for what promises to be an extraordinary celebration of travel, connection, and the Airstream spirit.

About Airstream Club International

Airstream Club International (ACI) is a not-for-profit organization with headquarters in Jackson Center, Ohio. The club originated when Wally Byam, the inventor of the Airstream, first led a group of travel trailers from Texas to Nicaragua in 1951, followed by subsequent caravans that encouraged people to get out and use their travel trailers.

In doing so, Wally inspired travel enthusiasts to see and enjoy the world, encouraging cross-cultural encounters, all the while using these environments to test the travel trailers he manufactured. On a caravan to Eastern Canada in 1955, the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI) was formed.

The club was later renamed the Wally Byam Airstream Club and is currently doing business as Airstream Club International (ACI). Today, ACI holds hundreds of local club and region rallies as well as dozens of local, regional and national caravans to provide club members with many opportunities to carry on the tradition of discovering fun, philanthropy, camaraderie and adventure together while traveling in their Airstreams. The ACI Annual Rally is the club’s largest annual gathering.
