CRVA Kicks Off 50th Anniversary Road Trip Across Canada

BURLINGTON, Ont. – To mark 50 years in Canada’s RV industry, the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) is hitting the road this summer, according to a press release.

Starting today, June 16th, CRVA’s President Shane Devenish is setting off on a cross-country tour in their 50th-anniversary wrapped 2025 Citation Reward Travel Trailer by General Coach to celebrate their half century birthday, the freedom of the RV lifestyle, connect with fellow Canadians, and raise funds for Care Camps Foundation, a Canadian charity that helps to send children with cancer to healing camp experiences.

This coast-to-coast journey will not only be just about the 50-year milestone—it’s about meeting RV’ers where they are, hearing their stories, and giving back in a truly meaningful way.

The RV lifestyle continues to grow in popularity across Canada. Whether it’s a weekend away or a full cross-country trip, more than 2.1 million Canadian households now own an RV. RVing allows Canadians to explore our scenic destinations, unplug from daily stress, and support our small communities.

It’s also a major driver of our economy—the RV industry contributes over $3.4 billion annually and supports more than 14,000 jobs nationwide, from manufacturing to campground operations.

CRVA’s RV will be making several stops throughout the summer journey at Campgrounds and RVDA Dealerships along the way, including at our good friends Transcona Trailer Sales in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for their Open House on June 20th.

From there, CRVA will be at Western Country RV in Airdrie at the end of June before Joss Penny from British Columbia Lodging and Campgrounds Association gets the keys to head west to Traveland RV in Langley and the Vancouver Craft Beer and Music Festival on July 12th with Go RVing Canada.

Then it’s back east again to be part of the Boots and Hearts Festival August 7th-10th, and wrapping up at the legendary Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in Toronto from August 26 – September 1st, before returning to our home base at Rustons RV Centre in Burlington.

At every stop, CRVA invites folks to come see the trailer in person, talk to them about their RV lifestyle memories, and if you find a way, buy a ticket to support Care Camps and a chance to win this fabulous trailer valued at over $100,000.

Every ticket sold will help send a child to Care Camps, and every dollar raised goes directly to this amazing cause.

“When we started planning this journey a year ago, we knew we wanted to do something meaningful for our 50th year,” said Shane Devenish, President of CRVA. “We wanted to celebrate our roots, promote everything we love about the RV lifestyle, and find a way to give back to our community. We decided on Care Camps, a charity that truly makes a difference in children’s lives.”

“RVing is such a big part of Canadian life—from the family road trips to weekend getaways—and I am excited to experience this for myself, first hand.  l am looking forward to seeing all of the friendly faces across the country—and if you see our rig on the road or at a campground, give a wave or drop by and say hello or snap a photo, and post it using #CRVA50 for a chance to win some fun prizes!”

We will be sharing updates throughout the trip on our social channels @canadianrvassociation, highlighting some of Canada’s historical landmarks on the journey, our scenic routes, and the many moments that make RVing so special.

Win & Follow Our Journey:

So whether you’re a seasoned RVer or dreaming of starting, we hope this tour will inspire you to get out there, explore Canada, and embrace the freedom of the open road. Because the best memories are made when we slow down, turn off the map, and just enjoy the ride.

From music festivals to campgrounds, this summer will truly be all about connection, celebration, and community engagement!

We will be available for media interviews throughout the journey, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to cover a stop or learn more about CRVA’s mission, history or more about Care Camps of Canada.

See y’all on the open road!

Forest River Bus & Van Announces Expanded Leadership

GOSHEN, Ind. — Forest River Bus & Van, a division of Forest River Inc., announced in a press release a series of leadership advancements aimed at strengthening operations, enhancing the customer experience, and supporting long-term growth.

Forest River has named Douglas Wright as president of its Bus, Van, and Marine divisions. With more than three decades of experience in the automotive industry, Wright is known for his strategic leadership, operational expertise, and commitment to customer service.

“This company was built by people who care deeply about what they do — and who they do it for,” Wright said. “Our responsibility now is to carry that legacy forward while continuing to refine and elevate the customer journey.

Supporting that vision is longtime Forest River leader Mike Terlep, newly appointed as Director of Sales for the Bus division. Terlep will lead all sales efforts across government, commercial, and dealer channels in North America. With a strong foundation in both RV and commercial transportation, he brings decades of hands-on experience and a reputation for being dependable and dealer focused.

“There’s no substitute for consistency and follow-through,” Terlep said. “We’ve built a strong foundation, and I’m excited to help carry that forward, ensuring every agency, fleet, and dealer experiences the strength of our commitment.”

But this expansion goes beyond titles. It’s about reimagining what service looks like at every step—from initial order to years after delivery. To do that, Forest River has introduced two new roles focused on aligning the ownership experience with the operational precision behind each build.

Ryan Lamb has been named Director of Customer Experience, leading efforts to bring greater continuity, speed, and clarity to every customer touchpoint. With nearly two decades in commercial vehicle manufacturing, Lamb understands how critical it is to get things right the first time—and keep them running right long after.

On the dealer side, Matt Steele has been named Director of Dealer Experience. With a background in product development, dealer operations, and customer service, Steele’s mission is to make it easier than ever for Forest River’s network of dealers to succeed.

Together, these leadership moves reinforce what has always set Forest River apart: its people, its partnerships, and its purpose.

“We’re redefining support—not just a call center or a policy, but a part of everything we do to build, deliver, and maintain vehicles that truly matter,” Wright said. “Our work isn’t only about vehicles—it’s about independence, opportunity, and everyday life. We are transporting what matters.”

Gen Z, Millennials & Affluent Travelers Set the Pace for ‘25

Confidence in taking an annual vacation has reached a record high, as noted in Allianz Partners USAs annual Vacation Confidence Index. However, the data also reveals striking differences in travel attitudes and behaviors across demographic groups. The annual study sheds light on how age, income, gender, and family dynamics are shaping Americans’ vacation plans in 2025, according to a press release.

Despite persistent inflation concerns and mixed signals about the broader economy, a clear picture is emerging in the travel space: younger and higher-income Americans are still eager to get away. 70% of Americans under the age of 35 are confident they’ll take a summer vacation this year, compared to 57% of their older counterparts (aged 55+) who share the same optimism.

This surge in vacation confidence among younger adults is reflected in their behavior as well: nearly one in three (29%) aged 18–34 has taken a vacation in the past three months, reinforcing the generation’s commitment to prioritizing travel, even amid economic uncertainty.

The data also underscores how income and education continue to shape travel behavior in a post-pandemic world. Three-quarters (76%) of Americans earning $100K+ annually are planning to travel this summer, compared to just 45% of those earning under $50K.

Similarly, individuals with a college degree (70%) are far more likely to take a vacation than those without one (50%). This reflects a broader consumer trend seen across industries in 2025: those with greater financial flexibility are still spending on experiences, while cost-conscious groups are scaling back.

Family dynamics and gender also shape this year’s travel trends, with men (68%) and women (59%) both showing strong confidence in their vacation plans — a sign that enthusiasm for summer travel is widespread across households. Parents with children at home are also showing high intent to travel, with 74% planning summer getaways, compared to just 58% of non-parents.

“As travel continues to rebound, these findings underscore how income and life stage increasingly influence how, and if, Americans plan their vacations,” said Emily Hartman, general manager at Allianz Partners USA. “While cost remains a concern for many, Gen Z, Millennials, and affluent families are driving the recovery, and they’re not waiting for perfect conditions to hit ‘book now.’ As more travelers take advantage of quick getaways and flexible planning, having the right travel insurance helps ensure those trips stay protected, no matter what comes their way.”

The Vacation Confidence Index has been conducted each summer since 2009 by national polling firm Ipsos Public Affairs on behalf of Allianz Partners USA. A vacation is defined as a leisure trip of at least one week to a place that is 100 miles or more from home.

Allianz Partners offers travel insurance through most major U.S. airlines, leading travel agents, online travel agencies, hotel companies, cruise lines and directly to consumers. For more information on Allianz Partners and available travel policies, visit http://www.allianztravelinsurance.com/.

‘High-Performance’ Marketing Firm Spark41 Hits Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. – Spark41, a high-performance marketing firm with deep roots in Elkhart County, will officially open its downtown headquarters with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, June 16. The event will be held at 128 S. Main Street in collaboration with the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce, the City of Elkhart and Mayor Rod Roberson, celebrating the firm’s launch and its commitment to driving creative excellence and economic vitality across the region, according to a release.

“Marketing has become a minefield of overpromises and shallow tactics,” said Alexander Bicknell, who along with Amber Alber are the co-founders of the firm. “Spark41 was created to replace guesswork with strategy and restore next-generation marketing to its rightful place as the throttle of sustained, aggressive growth. What’s our edge? For starters, we operate with a level of quality, efficiency, and investment that is untouchable in our segment. But this is where it gets unfair: our one-of-a-kind model embeds directly into the bloodstream of the business, combining internal visibility that traditional agencies can’t access with execution and delivery consultants can’t replicate. As a result, our customers win. That’s why we win.”

Continuing to build an elite team, the pair bring together diverse backgrounds to spark the next generation of smart and flexible marketing solutions to a diverse portfolio of industries, including RV manufacturers, the upscale hospitality sector, patented consumer products, municipalities, mission-driven nonprofits and a plethora of others.

Spark41 specializes in taking comprehensive, strategic approaches that prioritizes partnership, purpose and personalized impact over cookie-cutter campaigns, and the firm recognizes the need for bold, smart, personalized marketing that actually moves the needle, fuels business growth, and boosts the vibrancy in the community they care about.

“We started Spark41 because, collectively, we’ve spent enough time working across different sectors to clearly see what works and what doesn’t. Being deeply invested in pushing Michiana forward, one team at a time, we knew we could bring together our areas of expertise to create a more intentional way to approach marketing,” said Alber. “Spark41 was built to ignite brand growth for organizations of all sizes; we’re equally energized by the opportunity to support brands and causes on a local, national, and international scale. Unlike the one-size-fits-all approach, our model is built on flexibility and true partnership. We meet our clients where they are — whether that’s riding alongside in the backseat, navigating from the passenger seat, or taking the wheel as a fully embedded extension of their team.”

For those unable to attend in person, the Spark41 team encourages you to visit spark41.com to connect with them directly by filling out the contact form. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 4:45p.m. outside of 128 S. Main Street, Elkhart, IN 46514.

Lightspeed DMS Expands VIN Decoding, Integration Ability

SALT LAKE CIty – Lightspeed DMS, a leading provider of dealership management software for RV dealers, announced in a press release a major expansion in its OEM integration capabilities. The platform now includes VIN decoding support for units from Jayco, Highland Ridge RV, Entegra Coach, Starcraft, Venture RV, and KZ RV.

These renowned brands represent some of the most trusted names in the RV industry, and their inclusion marks a significant enhancement to the suite of tools Lightspeed provides to its dealership partners, the release stated.

This expanded functionality means that dealers using Lightspeed can now automatically decode VINs for units from these manufacturers directly within the system — reducing manual entry, eliminating data errors, and streamlining operations from sales to service.

Jeremy Johnson, associate director of OEM business development at Lightspeed, emphasized the significance of this milestone: “This is more than just a feature update — it’s a clear statement that Lightspeed is committed to pushing the boundaries of what technology can do inside RV dealerships. We’ve long been the standard-bearer in the powersports industry, trusted by major OEMs like Polaris, BRP and Honda. Now, we’re bringing that same level of seamless integration, innovation, and dealer support to the RV market.”

Lightspeed’s VIN decoding integrations are designed to dramatically improve operational efficiency by pre-populating accurate unit details across inventory, parts, service, and warranty workflows. By partnering directly with OEMs, Lightspeed ensures that dealership staff are always working with up-to-date and complete data — saving time and enabling better customer service.

“Our goal is to be more than just a DMS,” Johnson continued. “We want to be a trusted partner that simplifies the day-to-day for RV dealerships and their teams. By delivering OEM-direct integrations to eliminate repetitive tasks and reduce manual data entry, we’re helping dealers focus on what they do best — selling, servicing, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.”

This announcement reinforces Lightspeed’s long-standing commitment to dealership success. With over 40 years of experience and a growing ecosystem of OEM partners, Lightspeed continues to lead the industry forward—delivering deeper integrations, smarter automation, and innovative tools that drive real results for today’s RV dealerships.
