The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station remains the same at 34 cents.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased from 8.23 million b/d last week to 8.45. Total domestic gasoline supply increased from 247.9 million barrels to 248.3, while gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.2 million barrels per day. Today’s national average for a gallon of gas is $3.12, flat as compared to a month ago and 14 cents less than a year ago.

NRVTA Welcomes Kylie Blechle as New Student Advisor

Kylie Blechleto

ATHENS, Texas – The National RV Training Academy (NRVTA) welcomes Kylie Blechleto its Student Advisors team, where she will work under the leadership of Tonya Taylor, director of Student Advisors.

Blechleto, originally from Wildwood, Mo., brings a strong background in retail management, having worked her way up from a cashier to an assistant store manager in both craft and clothing stores. Her experience has given her a unique ability to connect with people, understand their goals, and help them make decisions that align with their dreams — making her a perfect fit for assisting students interested in RV technician training and RV tech certification, according to a release.

Her passion for the RV lifestyle began in July 2023, when she and her husband purchased their first RV to travel freely. During their time at the academy, they fell in love with the learning environment, instructors, and hands-on approach to RV training classes. They knew NRVTA was the place for them, leading Blechleto to take on a role where she can help others achieve their own success in RV repair training.

Beyond her work at NRVTA, Blechleto has a creative spirit and a love for the outdoors. She dreams of traveling the world as a photographer for National Geographic, capturing stunning landscapes and wildlife. She and her husband officially moved to Athens, Texas, in December 2024, embracing the RV community and the opportunities it offers.

“We are thrilled to have Kylie join our team,” said Taylor. “Her ability to connect with people and her firsthand experience with the NRVTA training programs make her an invaluable resource for students considering a career in the RV industry.

For those considering RV technician / Inspector certification or exploring NRVTA reviews to learn more about the academy’s reputation, Blechleto is ready to assist.

SB 26 Continues to Move Through California Legislature

California Senate Bill 26 – the clean-up legislation that would permit manufacturers to opt-in to the new streamlined procedures and incentivizes the seller of a vehicle that is the subject of a lemon law claim under AB 1755 to disclose the reasons for such claim to the potential buyer – continues to move through the California legislature, according to a News & Insights report by the RV Industry Association (RVIA).

In late January, the bill was assigned to two Senate committees: the Judiciary Committee and the Business, Professions, and Economic Development (BPED) Committee. It passed out of the Judiciary Committee on February 11 and is currently being reviewed by the BPED Committee.

To address the concerns of the Chair of the BPED Committee, a compromise was reached that will make two changes to SB 26. The compromise revisions will:

  • Push back the effective date of the pre-dispute notice requirement from April 1, 2025 to July 1, 2025.
  • Add language to SB 26 that would allow the legislature, in 2029, to review how AB 1755 is working and for the possibility of the sunset of AB 1755 in 2029, only if the legislature passed legislation to do so.

With these changes, the Chair of the BPED Committee has set a hearing date for SB 26 on Monday, March 3, 2025. The expectation is that it will pass out of committee with the above revisions.

This bill is NOT yet law and still has to pass through all of the necessary committees and both houses of the California legislature. The state goal from the Governor’s office is for the Governor to be able to sign it before April to allow for the opt-ins and to avoid confusion about the pre-dispute notice effective date.

Currently, AB 1755 applies to all RV manufacturers. As of January 1, 2025, all impacted companies should be ready to comply with the requirements of AB 1755.

The RV Industry Association will continue to monitor the status of SB 26. Please continue to read the News & Insights for updates.

The X10 is a mid-bore heavy-duty engine poised to position customers for success, according to a release. It replaces both the L9 and X12 engine platforms. This product delivers a new level of performance, durability and efficiency for heavy and medium-duty customers.

The X10 is part of the Cummins HELM platforms, an approach that allows customers to choose the fuel type that best suits their needs. Black Book: Wholesale RV Values Mixed as Spring Nears

Black Book, which publishes a family of vehicle appraisal guides, has released the Black Book RV market commentary for December.

“The average values for Motorhomes and Towables sold at auction were mixed last month, with Motorhomes increasing while Towables declined for the third consecutive month, falling to a level that they had not seen for several years.  With Spring right around the corner, we expect RV values to stabilize and perhaps even increase as dealers begin to purchase used units to ensure their lots are fully stocked,” noted Eric Lawrence, principal automotive analyst, specialty vehicles.

Taking a closer look at the markets, the average selling price for motorhomes was $63,346, which is up $2,739 (4.5%) from the previous month.  Towables came in at $15,915, down $1,168 (6.8%) from last month. One year ago the average motorhome sold for $53,551 and the average towable brought $18,329.

Auction volume was mixed: motorhomes decreased 1.7% while towables rose 6.2%.

The average age of motorhomes was 10 years old (2015) and towables was 6 (2019).
