ROCKY VIEW, Alb. – Rangeland RV & Trailer Sales is a leading dealership in Western Canada, with numerous awards and recognitions that span two decades. As the largest Forest River dealer in the country – equipped with the most robust new service and parts center in Alberta – dealer principal Dania Filippetto is focused on laying the groundwork for additional growth.
The businesswoman purchased land in Red Deer, Alb., two years ago, with plans to construct a brand-new facility akin to the company’s RockyView location.
“I have been in the Red Deer market since 2017, but always renting. The location did not have the right size shop for us, along with [operating in] an older building,” she said, expressing interest in duplicating their proven business model and culture at a modern facility that is owned instead of leased.
In spring 2023, Filippetto kickstarted a $7 million project at the Red Deer location. The standalone, precast construction is situated on five acres and features 16,800 square-feet. With high ceilings, oversized windows and scenic views of the property, she pointed to the grand showroom as a crown jewel of the project. A large mezzanine, with five additional vacant offices and a board room, overlooks the area and a large parts department.
The new facility also features roll-down power, water and airline supplies in the shop area of all eight bays, increasing efficiencies across the board.
“Now we have many more bays to complete work in a more-timely fashion,” Filippetto said. “In addition, we designed a comfortable lounge area for our customers, which includes a sit-up, bar-style area that has built-in network stations for clients to use while they are waiting for their same-day service appointments to be completed.”
A freshly-paved yard offers a welcoming first impression, while the expanded delivery row provides plenty of room to plug-in every RV, complete a proper walk-through and conduct orientations with customers.
As a result of the expanded footprint, the company hired three additional technicians and increased headcount in the parts department. Filippetto noted the spacious showroom can accommodate more sales staff, as needed.
“This new Red Deer [facility] allows us to align ourselves with the same values as our RockyView location, especially when it comes to the customer experience. [Now], we are able to be even better at providing the best customer service possible with the newest technology, plus ease of selling and servicing RV’s,” Filippetto said.
Recently, Rangeland RV hosted an exclusive grand opening event at the state-of-the-art facility. Filippetto was pleased with the turnout, noting more than 160 guests attended to honor the company’s bold steps in business development.
For Rangeland RV, the spacious showroom served as a picturesque backdrop to the catered affair, providing ample space for business partners and staff to co-mingle with family and friends, while enjoying a five-piece band, sipn’away mobile bar trailer, signature cocktails, as well as cake and ribbon cutting.
“As an exclusive Forest River dealer, everyone’s attendance was a huge support to us on a very important day. This project was a long time coming,” Filippetto said, emphasizing key partnerships allow Rangeland RV to capitalize on such opportunities to best serve shared customers.
Looking ahead, the dealer principal said Rangeland RV is busy finalizing an additional six-acre expansion at the RockyView location. The project, she said, will provide expanded retail RV storage, plus easy in-and-out and sewer dump access to better serve customers.
