California desert transforms during ‘super bloom’
(March 10, 2017) -- The so-called “super bloom” is the first big bloom in at least 12 years, according to park officials, The San Diego Tribune reported. While winter rains allowed Mother Nature to put on a bigger show than usual, the flowers may not last long due to winds and caterpillars in the area, Sally Theriault, state park interpreter with the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, told the Tribune.
