Calif.’s Pinnacles becomes 59th national park

(Jan. 11, 2013) -- Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Director of the National Park Service Jonathan B. Jarvis today celebrated the establishment of America’s 59th national park with President Obama’s signature of legislation to elevate Pinnacles National Monument to become Pinnacles National Park, the U.S. Department of the Interior has announced.
